Student nurses are set to receive dedicated training on domestic abuse and violence against women and girls as part of ‘The Unlock Safety Initiative’ which has been developed in partnership with @theRCN, @WomensAidNI, @QUBelfast School of Nursing & Midwifery and @ExecOfficeNI Ending Violence Against Women & Girls Regional Change Fund. The First Minister and deputy First Minister said they were delighted to support the training for frontline healthcare workers, enabling them to recognise abuse and take action to ensure victims get the help they need.

✨️PD education for care home staff is a neglected area of research

✨️When education or training programmes on PD are provided to care home staff, the limited literature suggests they are successful in improving staff knowledge, staff confidence, and quality of care

✨️Future research should focus upon the design, implementation, and evaluation of robust, evidence-based, tailored educational programmes on PD for care home staff
