This places gives me life, fills me with hope and hugs me when I need it. Nothing in this place has been on accident and I pray for the endurance to keep being what this room needs. Give me wisdom; show me what you’re doing. Amen.

Healthy culture looks different everywhere based on personality of the leader and the makeup of the team, but it comes down to the same principles:
Clear vision
Clear communication
Clear roles
Commitment to the vision, to the standard, to each other
If you are encouraging your team to be their best, you have to be okay with failures along the way.
They will stumble, they will fall, they will make mistakes, they will fail. The only way to grow is to fail first.
Don't call them out, call them up to who they're becoming.
@illusionturns I simply think I was imagining you speaking about a mom of a 5yo bringing their to kid to a local place an hour per week to learn a cartwheel and maybe you meant hyper competitive parents seeking out high level coaches and choosing to overlook the damage they have done.
@illusionturns a truth: many parents start a sport in a very recreational mind set and sign their child up for an activity to have somewhere to bring them for an hour per week and don’t initially think ahead to the potential way they may someday participate differently in that sport
petition for elite gymnastics to start a league for competition where you perform routines intentionally not at full start value simply to work on execution, confidence and gain experience.
@gemnasticss I have no science to back it up but would assume that the bounding action is more forceful paired with the fact that on a bhs take off your feet are behind your hips at a deep angle for the vertical take off where in the landing you want your feet tucked under for control
