@DanHubbard Good. Went cycling this morning and everyone is giving way to each other and a few hello’s. I picked up medication for my friend and her daughter who are high risk the people at the chemist were lovely and I had a quick chat to my friend behind a closed door which was a first 😂
International Jobs. Manage your expectations. It’s great getting a casting/job for a shoot or production overseas but the reality is it’s a lot of hard work. https://t.co/3ml1OCcbeJ
@pale_sid in the office on a rainy Saturday morning. He looked at one of the photos and said “What’s that on my face”. My reply was “That’s a dimple, they are very sort after and very cute”. ❤️
I hate hearing stories of parents who have been scammed over the years by companies that have lured them in promising to make their child a star. They are good at what they do and they know every trick. https://t.co/TzSNxqjzuf #scammodellingagencies#ukmodels#modelsuk#ukactors

Being on set is not a normal environment and children need to pick activities that are calm and engaging while off set. With expensive equipment and cords laying around Parents need to be vigilante and ensure children stay safe.
Work/Life balance. Sometimes you can be so focused on getting jobs their normal lives fall short. Being an actor or a model is not who you are it’s what you do. Yes sometimes Birthday parties will be missed and plans changed but kids need to be kids. It fills their heart with joy
My child fits the brief exactly, like it was written for him. Why wasn’t he chosen?
Clients know what they are looking for and you could be the most talented kid in the casting room but maybe they want someone more raw. Someone who will play the role with a childish innocence.
What is the Entertainment Industry like? Your the bell of the ball when you have something people want otherwise it can feel like you’re sitting on a bench waiting to be asked to dance. Be proactive. Watch a webinar, practise a scene or monologue. Don’t wait to be ask to dance.
Friendships. It’s important to have friends in this Industry to keep you sane. But keep the numbers small. Not everyone is out to support you but rather to trip you up. It’s ok to keep some news private.
As a parent/chaperone whether your child is working in a studio or filming outdoors comfortable clothing is a must. Different locations can see you trudging through the mud and rain. Photo credit of Stanley with cake Photographer Antonina Mamzenko UK’s top family photographer.
Autumn is a great time of year for update photos. Instead of being in a studio get out and about and let the kids have fun and snap away for some natural smiling shots.
Children need to eat when hungry. It’s a good idea to bring snacks and drinks to ensure no matter what time the cast breaks for meals kids are content. Reading material, travel games and colouring books/pens all help to keep kids busy as there can be a lot of waiting around.
When attending a casting wear what you would normally wear on the weekend and stay relaxed. Don’t go for bright colours or party clothes unless specifically requested. Casting Directors need you to shine not your clothes.
It’s important when applying to an agency to show a variety of looks to show your versatility. Keep it simple and stay away from clothes that are too busy and keep the background simple.
