Completely unrelated to the RNC, but my weird brain was very happy to watch the motorcycles do a wee "boop" as they went over that bump before the gate. Brain went from "what's going on?" to "yes, good, tiny motorcycle boops are fun."

@bslowbro The part that makes me anxious is the empty streets around the convention soft border. Coast guard with guns is weird, but not unexpected. The absolute emptiness of Wisconsin Ave east of 43 just feels ominous.

@natevomhof Most workplaces around the area went "Everyone can work from home if they want." And gosh darn it, most folk did. An estimated 80k workers aren't at the offices downtown. Since the RNC brought in 50k ish visitors, that's a net -30k people downtown.
