A month ago, at this hour, I had to tell my two daughters - 3.5 years old and 20 months old - that they must remain completely silent. No word, no cry.
It was 7AM, they had just woken up in a dark room with no electricity or food, and five people were shouting outside the window.

On the morning of Saturday, October 7th, at 8:30 AM, Hanna Katzir (77), the heart of Kibbutz Nir Oz, managed to send a message to her family, reassuring them that she and her husband, Rami, were safe and locked in the safe room. Tragically, Rami's lifeless body was later discovered in that same room.

Hanchuk and Ramchuk were an inseparable, loving, and caring couple. Hanna is beloved by everyone in the kibbutz. She dedicated many years to caring for children in the kindergarten and later worked in the kibbutz's clothing warehouse. Her grandchildren often joke that if they ever needed a kidney transplant, they would turn to Hanna, as she always prioritizes others' needs above her own.

Each morning, Hanna starts her day with phone calls to her sister, her children, and her grandchildren. We must ensure that Hanna can continue this routine with her family members once again. We must bring her back home. Now!
