1. Destiny 2: The Final Shape
Endings are hard, especially at the end of a 10-year saga, *especially* given Destiny's previous year. It is a miracle that in the face of this, The Final Shape delivered one of the series' best campaigns and an ending that still remains with me.
8. Thank Goodness You’re Here
At minimum, you have to admire Thank Goodness You're here's commitment to the bit: There are so many jokes packed into its 2-3hr runtime, and they are all so specifically bawdy and British. What's even better is that so many of them had me laughing.
2. Metaphor: ReFantazio*
The Persona team has truly graduated from the high school setting with Metaphor: ReFantazio. Its world is well-realised, its themes of tolerance and utopia are as prescient as ever, and combat is dense and satisfying. I can't wait to finish this game.
9. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Black Ops 6's campaign is surprisingly ambitious with its quantity of unique mechanics, reminding me of Titanfall 2 in the best ways. Combined with the tight movement and gun handling, I have (unfortunately) found myself returning to CoD Multiplayer.
At last: It's my games of the year for 2024! 🧵
10. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
The Ichiban half of Infinite Wealth is exactly when I liked about his last game but improved upon: The combat is better and his crew are more affable than ever.
