The destruction of the Kakhovka dam is a war crime, a humanitarian disaster, an act of ecocide, and a nuclear escalation all at once.
Let’s break down the magnitude of Russia’s yet another war crime and what we all should do next.
Pre-pandemic, all parents knew that children brought viruses home from school & daycare; daily experience backed by the science on flu/RSV.
Then pandemic misinformation took hold.
The saddest thing about this study is that it had to be published at all.

Today a friend told me not to "live in fear" of COVID. In fact, since most people in my life act like the pandemic is over, it's easy to forget that yes, #COVID is still a thing!

"In real terms“living with the virus”means living with a normalization of death, reinfections, long COVID, disruption and exhausted health-care workers. People would never vote for a deteriorating quality of life, but that’s where policy is now taking us." https://t.co/TuTn34nrLU
I remember breaking down to my Ph.D. advisor about how stupid I felt while troubleshooting a problem in my project when she handed me this paper. Years later it is still relevant to young students starting off in Science. It's ok to feel stupid, we all do on a regular basis.
