The US 10-year Treasury yield closed at 5.11% yesterday. That's the highest close since July 2007.

It rose 15bp in a single day, and Polymarket now has a Fed hike in October at 68.5%.

Markets stopped asking when the cuts come. Now it's whether the Fed chases yields higher.

Polymarket now prices a 64.5% chance the Fed hikes in October, up 12 points in a day. "No change" is down to 33.5%.

Headline CPI is 3.4%. Core is 2.4%. The whole 1.0 point gap is food and energy. A hike here would be the Fed leaning against an oil shock, not a hot core.
