We are deeply grieved by the loss of our colleague/client, friend, Chuck Sullivan. His loss puts things in this crazy but blessed business into perspective. The lump in my throat reminds me to slow my pace, listen more intentionally, and tell the people around me how deeply I value them.
It is funny. When people hire our company, there is often a little trepidation. The quiet fear of, “Ruh-Roh?” Chuck was the complete opposite. He welcomed partnership. He stayed open to collaboration and growing with the new conference leadership. He showed patience, grace, and a genuine love for the work. He just loved the conference, his colleagues, and anyone who was willing to pitch in. He served without ego. He brought kindness into every room. He was one of the most easy going and generous people we have ever worked alongside. We will miss him deeply. As you can imagine, his family is facing unimaginable loss. If you feel moved to support them, please consider donating to the GoFundMe set up on their behalf.
We trust that Chuck is with our sweet Lord, looking down on us, and no doubt double-checking that we get every stat and fact right as we move closer to the Football Championship Game. To support Chuck’s family during this difficult time, a GoFundMe has been set up: https://t.co/iR6jq3GAHf
If you’re able, please consider donating or sharing. Every bit of support means a lot to those he loved!

The American Athletic Conference is now just "The American Conference."
It's not using "AAC" either, which was never official.
I talked with commissioner Tim Pernetti about the changes and the league's future:

Commissioner Tim Pernetti and conference officials have spent many months on a strategic and holistic approach to modernize the league’s branding and vision for the future. The conference partnered with ANACHEL, an integrated brand and communications firm led by CEO Carrie Cecil.
The American Conference is announcing later today a renaming, retiring the names “American Athletic Conference” and “AAC” in place of “American Conference” or “American.”
The renaming comes with the creation of various rebranding concepts, including a new mascot: Soar the Eagle.
