Today marks the 2nd anniversary of the Silent Hill 2 Remake 📻 🟥

On October 8, 2024, Konami released the full remake of the classic psychological horror game Silent Hill 2. Developed by Bloober Team for PlayStation 5 and PC (via Steam).

This remake uses the Unreal Engine 5 to modernize the graphics, gameplay, and controls, while faithfully preserving the original’s narrative and atmosphere. The game slightly expands the characters’ backstories for greater emotional depth, but retains the multiple endings (now 8 in total, including 3 initial ones and others unlockable in New Game+).

The plot follows James Sunderland (Luke Roberts), a widower who receives a letter from his late wife, Mary (Salóme Gunnarsdóttir), inviting him to Silent Hill, a town shrouded in fog and nightmares. There, he encounters Maria, a woman identical to his wife, and embarks on an introspective journey filled with symbolic monsters and unsettling revelations.

Haris Orkin confirms that the Resident Evil Requiem DLC will expand Spencer’s story arc and is set to arrive in 2027! 💥

Haris Orkin, lead writer for Resident Evil Requiem and also the writer of the Resident Evil Village DLC Shadows of Rose, revealed new details about the narrative expansion during his appearance at Meadowlark Comic Con, in an interview that is now available online.

When discussing Spencer’s character development, Orkin admitted to letting slip some information he perhaps should have kept under wraps:

“We have an arc for Spencer in Requiem. They kind of you understand that more and in the DLC for Requiem, you will understand it even further. So yeah! I probably shouldn’t say that, but yeah.”

The writer confirmed that he is currently drafting the script for the expansion, scheduled to launch sometime in 2027, though Capcom has not officially announced a specific date. He also explained how he works in coordination with the team:

“I'm working on the DLC for Resident Evil Requiem right now. And it's very, you know, we're kind of working hand in hand. They show me the videos. A lot of times I'll have an alpha build of the game that I'll play as I'm writing it, so I can see, you know, where lines have to go and, you know, and how things are going to work in the game.”

The news has sparked the community’s interest in learning how the backstory and motivations of Spencer—one of the game’s key characters—will be explored in greater depth.

Zach Cregger's Resident Evil Surpasses $250 Million Worldwide and Is on Track to Break All Franchise Records! 🎥

At the close of its third weekend in theaters, the new Resident Evil film directed by Zach Cregger has officially surpassed the $250 million mark in global box office revenue, cementing its status as a resounding success against a production budget of just $75 million. Based on figures through October 4, the global total stands at approximately $245.4 million, broken down into $124.9 million in domestic markets (the United States and Canada) and $120.5 million in international markets.

In North America, the film has already surpassed Disclosure Day with $124 million compared to the latter’s $116 million, and has more than doubled the franchise’s all-time record in the region, previously set by Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) with $60.1 million. It is also the first film in the franchise to exceed $100 million in domestic box office revenue. In its third weekend, it held onto the No. 2 spot with $12.5 million, a moderate 46% drop, demonstrating solid staying power at the box office.

Globally, it has already surpassed Resident Evil: Retribution ($240.6 million) to become the third-highest-grossing film in the series. The all-time record remains held by Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016) with $312 million, closely followed by Afterlife with about $300 million; both marks are now within reach for the new installment.

The sequence was shot on location in the Czech countryside during late November, in near-freezing temperatures. The team of stunt performers and movement artists spent a long time rehearsing the creature's unsettling contortions as it passed through the doorway, including several test runs.
