Hurricane Melissa has shattered the global record for the DRIEST storm eye ever observed, surpassing Super Typhoon Meranti (2016).

The NHC is now warning that the eyewall’s destructive winds may cause “total structural failure, particularly in higher elevations, leading to widespread infrastructural damage, prolonged power and communications outages, and isolated communities” in Jamaica.

The immense detonations of lightning throughout Melissa’s 175 MPH eyewall indicate that intensification is STILL somehow ongoing. The next recon flight into this CATEGORY 5 sawblade could be historic.
