Let’s spare a thought for thousands of African Games volunteers who have been left abandoned by government without the allowances the Sports Minister promised them.

Many MPs including yours truly are inundated with countless petitions from these heroic volunteers who deserve better after their patriotic sacrifices for the nation.

The Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government has absolutely no justification for the shabby treatment of volunteers after massive withdrawals of taxpayer funds for the games.

Here are unimpeachable details of recent withdrawals:

1) GHS80,000,000.00 released to the Sports Ministry on 20-Feb-24

Less than 5% of this colossal amount would have been adequate to appreciate the tireless contributions of volunteers and to avert the current legitimate agitations.
