They transferred me from my comfort zone in Kaduna to Jos, and honestly, I wasn’t happy about it. I felt like I was being moved because I had become too comfortable in Kaduna.

At first, I cried and struggled to accept the transfer. But looking back now, I realize that moving to Jos was one of the biggest and best decisions I have ever made.

Sometimes, life takes us out of our comfort zone not to punish us, but to help us grow.

Good evening sir,
If a tenant moved into a house on 1 October 2025 and paid an annual rent of ₦500,000, but the landlord increased the rent to ₦800,000 on 30 May 2026, is the tenant required to pay the new rent immediately? Does the new rent apply to the tenant’s current tenancy, or does it only take effect when the current tenancy expires? What should the tenant do in this situation? I would appreciate your legal advice.
