Men are possessed every day. They just do not roll on the floor screaming like you see in movies.
First of all, what type of jinns attack men? We have the female jinns, the Jinniyah Aashiqah, that attack men out of pure obsession and lust. Men who open their bodies all the time in the name of six-packs are more susceptible to these kinds of jinns.
Men also get attacked by the Avenger jinns, such as Jinn Al-Muntaqim. These are the ones that seek revenge. Maybe a man poured hot water outside at night or stepped on them without knowing. They will come and attack you.
Then there are the ones that are sent through black magic. They are known as Khadim as-Sihr. Their goal is to destroy a man's mind, his business, or his marriage.
We also have As-Si'lah, the lurer that messes with a man's psychological state. I have talked about this type when I talked about the likes of Ghol jinns some time ago.
When a man is possessed, the signs are different. He might become extremely aggressive, abandon his family out of nowhere, or completely isolate himself. Society will call him a wicked man or say he is dealing with severe depression. We rarely call it possession because men try to hide their struggles to protect their ego.
So why does it seem like women are the most possessed, and why are they a bit more susceptible?
It comes down to spiritual armor. Women go through monthly cycles where they are restricted from observing their daily prayers or reciting the Quran. That period lowers their spiritual defense. Jinns wait for vulnerable windows like that to strike.
Also, women are more expressive. When a jinn possesses a woman, the physical symptoms are much louder. The fainting, the crying, the sudden weakness. People see that and immediately know it is a spiritual attack.
Add the fact that women naturally love to beautify themselves, which sometimes attracts the evil eye from humans and jinns alike. The evil eye is a direct door opener for a jinn to enter.
Possession does not care about gender. The symptoms just show up differently.
And for those who think this is a joke, go and ask the people who do Ruqyah for a living. Curing a possessed person is a literal warzone. When a Raqiy is casting out a jinn, the spirit often promises revenge. The jinns will launch heavy retaliatory attacks on the Raqiy.
It gets so bad that sometimes the person who is busy treating others will have to call another Raqiy to come and do Ruqyah on him just to survive the backlash. I know people this has happened to in real life. It is a very dangerous spiritual battle.
May the Almighty protect us.
