Meanwhile, Southeast Asians are expected to learn everyone else’s history, understand their sensitivities, and respect their boundaries- yet somehow that respect rarely seems to go both ways. We get stereotyped, mocked, and talked down to, even by other Asians, and then we’re expected to stay polite when we call it out.

I’m tired of that double standard. Don’t insult me and then suddenly demand political correctness when I return the same energy. Respect goes both ways. If you can dish it out, be ready to take it. Period.
