There was also an interesting keynote from @ASMLcompany about future lithography systems and larger reticle sizes. You can really feel that the industry is shifting from “make the transistor smaller” to “how do we architect the system differently”.
What a fun day at @imec_int ITF World conference.
The bottom line:
→ The future of technology looks very stacked.
→ Scaling is no longer just about shrinking transistors.
More and more of the progress is now coming from system-level engineering: advanced packaging, stacking memory on top of logic, and especially interconnect innovation.
It was a genuine moonshot — and not all moonshots work. But I really admire Tesla for taking it on.
I think they underestimated just how complex it is to build a supercomputer from scratch.
