You Do Not Use Only 10% Of Your Brain 🧵
1/ Yes! You do not use only 10% of your brain.
Functional imaging and lesion studies show that virtually all regions have identifiable jobs.
The claim matters because it treats the organ as mostly idle spare parts instead of tissue already working at full biological capacity.
There’s no universal ‘should' in the number of times one should have SEX. Frequency depends on consent, libido, health, stress, and the relationship.
Research on couples usually finds averages around 1–2 times a week, with relationship satisfaction often leveling off after about once a week. 21 times a week is far above typical and not physiologically necessary for most people. Quality and mutual desire matter more than the number.
Sepsis bay, hour ten. Pressors are modest, lactate is annoying but not catastrophic, and the overnight plan still sounds like “watch and reassess.” You’re arguing whether multi-organ dysfunction is already loading for the next twelve-to-thirty-six hours — before the full SOFA arc is on the board.
Purinergic Signalling describes PathSepsisNet, a pathway-aware graph model that turns routine early labs into inflammatory-pathway states and watches how those pathways crosstalk over the first half-day of ICU care. In a large MIMIC-IV sepsis cohort (nearly thirty thousand adults), it predicted later MODS with about 0.90 AUROC. Even a single Pathway Divergence Score — pro-inflammatory versus cytoprotective imbalance — landed near 0.87 alone.
What that means on the sepsis board: a research early-warning shape for who needs a harder organ look overnight — not a green light to escalate every soft vitals change, and not a substitute for source control and the exam. Retrospective EHR model. You still decide who gets the midnight relook and who gets watched through morning rounds.

The Health Desk — cleaning up wildfire ash
Wildfire ash is fine dust you can breathe in. Clean it up the safe way. 😷
From EPA's ash fact sheet: wear a mask marked "NIOSH" and "N95" or "P100." Add gloves, long sleeves, long pants, shoes and socks. Keep children and pets away while you clean, and don't let kids play in ash. Mist hard surfaces with water before you sweep, to keep dust down. Use a HEPA vacuum, not a regular or shop vacuum. No leaf blowers. Ash on your skin, in your eyes or mouth? Wash it off fast. Indoors, CDC suggests one closed-off room with a portable air cleaner.

I told my mother that I had become a vegetarian because my fitness coach said I needed to change my diet.
The truth is; Meat had simply become too expensive, and my refrigerator had been almost empty for two weeks.
My mother was so proud.
She told everyone she knew that her son was finally living a disciplined, healthy lifestyle.
I didn’t have the heart to correct her.
Because the fibula has its own axial blood supply which is the fibular/peroneal artery and it's a non-weight-bearing bone.
That makes it a perfect vascularized free flap whereby the bone stays alive after transfer, can be osteotomized and shaped to match the mandible, and the pedicle is anastomosed to facial/neck vessels.
Hence, the Tibia takes over leg function.
@Prosp1Prosper Yes, That's reconstructive surgery principle; autologous reconstruction. Fibula is perfect because it's straight, strong, long enough to shape into a jaw, and its vascular pedicle keeps it viable.
I don't know if y'all will understand but the one I always share with students is that; Your brain doesn't distinguish strongly between vividly imagined stress and real stress, same HPA axis, same cortisol.
That's why rumination literally wears the body down and anatomically, the amygdala and prefrontal cortex are in a constant tug-of-war...so training that top-down control is not just "mindset", it's neurobiology.
You take Emergency Pill after every sex and you still complain your monthly period scattered.
Emergency pill is an hormone bomb, not routine.
Scattered period is expected when abused.
@scitechgirl Love this concept, instead of harvesting incoming photons like normal solar, it uses the temperature gradient between Earth's warmth (∼300K) and outer space (∼3K) as the energy source
Do you think this could pair on the same rooftop as normal solar for 24h generation?
The funny bone is the ulnar nerve crossing the inner elbow, not a bone.
There the nerve lies in a shallow groove on the humerus with almost no muscle or fat over it. A sharp knock pins it against bone and briefly interrupts its signals, sending a flash of tingling down the inner forearm into the ring and little fingers.
It is like pinching a live wire against a hard edge.
That sudden electric zap after you clip the inside of your elbow on a desk or doorframe is the unprotected ulnar nerve.
