ArenaNet has confirmed that Guild Wars 3 will not have a battle pass or a monthly subscription.
Studio lead Colin Johanson said the team does not want to “keep people hostage” with systems that make players feel like they have to log in every day or pay every month to keep up.
“We don’t want to keep people hostage.”
He said ArenaNet wants people to play because they enjoy the game, not because they are worried about missing rewards or wasting money on a subscription.
“We want people to come back because they love the game, not because they’re afraid of losing something.”
Like previous Guild Wars games, Guild Wars 3 is expected to make money through game sales, expansions, and optional cosmetic items instead of subscriptions or battle passes.
ArenaNet says it wants to respect players’ time and let them play when they want.
@metaknight996 Claro, pero tú eres el maravilloso, ingenioso, guapo, inteligente, agradable de Javi; sin embargo, yo estaba hablando del gordo de Javi. Entonces, NO ERES TÚ (?)
