Dana Bash cited data as if it were scripture.

Bessent reminded the audience it was priesthood, not prophecy.

The deeper truth is this:

•“Budget impact” is code for ideological positioning.

Trump’s policy may or may not benefit the wealthy more but what matters here is not the numbers.

It’s the architecture of trust. Once that collapses, every analysis is suspect, and the war becomes narrative vs. narrative, tribe vs. tribe.

Bessent’s reply wasn’t a data correction.
It was a meta-political kill shot, cutting to the origin of the frame instead of debating inside it.

In today’s discourse battlefield, that’s the only move that matters.
The one who defines the credibility of the source, wins the meaning of the message.
