Every time I see a tweet from a vtuber it's about how they have the self-preservation instincts of a June bug. Entire industry staffed by children who can't play outside unaccompanied.
@Plugspark@VivianKesandre You understand that basically every music production software does exactly what you are explaining here? This isn't some crazy hard magical thing. I'm muting this because it's really not going anywhere.
@Plugspark@VivianKesandre Things like vlc and ffmpeg can do full fat transcoding of multiple files into direct streaming formats on the fly. There is zero reason you need to store everything in a specific format locally.
As I said in my first post, broadcast folks are weirdos.
@Plugspark@VivianKesandre I'm saying you can convert to PCM (or whatever) in memory at hot load time of a file. You have no need to work with mp3 directly, and you also have no need to store things on disk in a specific format, as long as you can decode that format correctly. Shits not hard.
@Plugspark@VivianKesandre Why recompress? You have plenty of ram to keep waveforms buffered for mixing and transmission. Literally no reason to transcode. I see literally no meaningful reason to do what you are saying.
@flounders912@weezard0f0z@GrandZeroGaming All these people were non-Londoners who were boomers or older. People who grew up entirely before the EU. In my experience there was definitely a generational divide across who considers themselves "European".
