Thanks, Octav, for the warm words.
The interesting thing is that when I started working on Universal Zoom in mid 2013, I had not had a chance to watch “Powers of 10” or any other videos or apps on this topic. Otherwise, Universal Zoom would have looked different, probably influenced by other references. I “saw” the current layout and dynamics in my imagination long before I started implementing it into the code.
I've long loved Charles Eames' Powers of Ten and was delighted to discover @AndPilot's interactive take on the same idea: Universal Zoom. A beautiful way to explore scale, from the cosmic to the microscopic.

@Qantico_nxe Thanks for replying! Could you please add a comment under your post saying that this video is based on the Universal Zoom app. Much appreciated!
@seanwei001 This video is 5 years old. Since then we added ~70 new objects. It’s our app, Universal Zoom. Explore it yourself on your device, available in 40 languages!
We made a decision not to use ads in the app for the best educational experience. So we charge a one-time small fee (not a monthly subscription) for the entire content. Consider it like an interactive book with free future updates several times a year. So, comparatively, it’s a bargain. Respectfully.
We started working on a new app, Solar Scale with the main focus on the scale of the Solar System bodies and their trajectories. 🪐
Here is our progress after the 1st week of prototyping. Planing to release it by the end of the summer (2026) 🚀
It’s really frustrating that people post screen recordings from our app, Universal Zoom, without giving any credit. About 1M people collectively viewed the video in 1 day, including all the quote-reposts, expressed fascination, and had no idea about the source or that they could use it on their devices. 🤔
What’s new in v2.9.1. We added Artemis II and Falcon Heavy, brought back the updated UY Scuti Star, and updated the Earth image with a stunning photo that was taken by the Artemis II crew. Besides that, there are many translation updates and UI polishing.
