Social psychologist Jonathan Haidt, author of "The Anxious Generation," shares why he's encouraging more techno-skepticism and warns of the detrimental impact technology can have on kids.
Today, I signed an Executive Order temporarily repealing bedtimes in the City of New York so that kids of all ages can watch our team in the NBA Finals.
As Mayor, you’re forced to make many difficult decisions. This was not one of them.
Go Knicks.
It's widely accepted that hantavirus transmits from rodent excreta to humans via inhalation of aerosolized virus, so I don't understand why we're so reluctant to acknowledge the inhalation route for human-to-human transmission.

Festus, Missouri voted out every single council member who approved a data center against the community's wishes. Every. Single. One. That's the blueprint. From micro to macro.
We are seven months away from the most consequential midterm election in the history of the United States. Meanwhile, we are fighting a war. These are the structural conditions for a coup attempt in which a president tries to nullify elections and take permanent power as a dictator. If we see this, we can stop it, overcome the movement that brought us to this point, and make a turn towards something better.

Pastor: I saw ICE agents circling a young woman who appeared to be Hispanic. I said to this ICE agent, 'Take me, stop harassing her.' The agent got in my face, pointed a gun at me, and said, 'Are you afraid now?' To which I said, 'I am not afraid.' The next thing I knew, they were putting handcuffs on me, and they put me in the back of an SUV. I asked them if I was under arrest. They said to me, 'Well, you're white, you won't be any fun anyway.'
Damn you won't see this in media

“No law enforcement officer may wear a mask. We will arrest those who wear masks to hide their identity.
If you come to this city and commit a crime, the criminal in the White House cannot keep you from going to prison.”
Transmission is increasing in 31 states, declining in 4, and steady in the rest.
These data are a week old, of course. Still on pace for a national peak around Sept 6, *if* historical transmission trends hold.
