@wattscaseyl A few of us from class missed the class canceled email and stayed in the upstairs lobby area to discuss these questions. Our little meeting made for a good twitter chat! #rdg318watts#digitalchat
A6. E-readers allow anyone to get the book they want at that moment, they are more portable, they have built in dictionaries and can hold so many books to save up space! @wattscaseyl #rdg318watts#digitalchat
A5. It is important for teachers to adapt and use new technology. Technology helps make teaching more meaningful and fun! Students are also able to collaborate with their classmates through technological applications, like #twitterchats😁 @wattscaseyl #rdg318watts#digitalchat
A4. It’s important for teachers to model to students to know how to use e-readers so they are able to use them to the full potential. @wattscaseyl #rdg318watts#digitalchat
Q3. Students learn at a different rate and digital learning helps create traits within the child’s brain. Therefore, every child’s brain structure will develop differently. @wattscaseyl #rdg318watts#digitalchat
A2. I believe that E-Readers help children with disabilities up to their needs. Such as: texts to speech, zoomed text, and puts reading on an electronic more motivating than text on paper! @wattscaseyl #rdg318watts#digitalchat
Q1. A1. I think more and more students are interested in game-like activities through technology rather than sitting down calmly and reading a book. @wattscaseyl #rdg318watts#digitalchat
final thoughts: this was a very interesting way to have a discussion and I really enjoyed it! Isn’t technology cool? 🤓 #AssessmentChat#happyvalentinesday
@LanaMWoods I agree with you! Everyone learns in different ways and at different paces. It’s important to look at our learners individually and not base a standard off of the whole group
@wattscaseyl A5: I think self assessment rubrics benefit a student in ways of learning self-reflection and evaluate how well they are doing on a particular task. #AssessmentChat
@wattscaseyl A4: Anecdotal records and observation checklists help teachers track a student’s behavior within a time frame or over a specific unit. Rubrics can help guide a student for further instructions or success on an assessment. #AssessmentChat
@wattscaseyl I think the most important principle to me would be managing the amount of assessed work students do. Students need a reliable or valid profile achievement, one that’s not from stress or being overwhelmed. #AssessmentChat
@wattscaseyl A2: The difference is that the formal end is more generalized, for the classroom, but the informal end is more focused on the individual. #AssessmentChat
@wattscaseyl A3: Criterion-referenced tests are more beneficial because it measures performance & to see if a student has learned the knowledge & skills needed. Criterion referenced tests show if a student has a learning gap/academic fault, which is also important to know. #AssessmentChat
