Everybody has a bias, including yourself and you should stay focused on how to see more clearly through your own decisions
Most participants are listening to biased people, sometimes a ton of different biased people and they wonder why they can't make a solid decision with conviction
Listen to what happens outside but stay in your lane, you have to make your own decisions and you know what? You'll be awful at first but over time you'll get better because 99% of information is not gatekept at all we live on the internet trading internet coins, improve your research game become better and outrade everyone else
Being able to find and verify information faster than others is an edge you'll be able to bank on for the years to come especially in our ecosystem
Don't burn bridges and start from the basics there's no other way around
I say this because I know most people don't even know the basics of our ecosystem, to take the most basic example: the Bitcoin whitepaper, most people haven't even read it and it's only a 9 page PDF that you can probably finish in 15 minutes, I'm not sure I can be more explicit than that
So get things done by yourself and learn on the way there's no better way to improve
Frog talked about it lately and honestly I don’t feel like we got much time left so here’s a small thread on:
How to potentially qualify for the upcoming DeBank airdrop and fulfill what I feel like could be the most important requirements
Let's dive in🧵
Last week’s blood in the market reminded me a few things about illiquidity and pain in NFTs, a short story on how frog roundtripped $80K worth of Art Blocks NFTs back to 0 in late 2021:
I first started NFTs in June/July 2021 and thanks to a raging up only market I managed to get my way up from $1K to almost 6 figures in less than 3 months
There was a huuuge hype around generative art and especially Art Blocks, every mint was a gas war selling out in seconds, people were looking for the next Ringers or Fidenza, for months you could have bought pretty much any Art Blocks collection and you would have been up a f*ck ton
But like most good things it didn’t last forever, in fact the AB market started to slow down and most people were complaining about dilution and too many mints flooding the market
I was up a f*ck ton until liquidity was gone, I believe I lost around 85% of unrealized profits in about 10 days because liquidity literally disappeared on every collection I owned and I had no experience in such events before
It was my first NFT bear market and it hit me hard, it basically destroyed my portfolio (my poor choices destroyed my portfolio but I learned it later on)
I realized I was the one being exit liquidity and holding the bag for others to book their own profits, basically this is the moment I stopped being a moonboy and I started taking my profits and losses aggressively, no more hope involved in decision making
I’m still learning everyday as I trade more but this was definitely a clutch moment for me because of how painful it was to see that much profits sent back to 0 this fast, it was probably a top 3 financial lesson for frog: always protect your capital and especially if you’re up much more than you would have expected
One last thing: if you're first out the door, that's not called panicking
What defines a BitcoinWhale? Often it's been perceived by the masses as big players on Bitcoin, some may see them as marketmakers. But in Ordinals, they construe freedom.
