Vacation brain is awesome. All I did was eat and drink and walk around and not deny myself anything so my brain is like “wow great town. I should move here. It would probably be like this every day”
I hate when people at work ask you what books you are reading for professional development. I am reading books to counteract the effects of being professionally developed. I am reading books that bring me back to being human.
A lot of neurodivergent people didn’t miss out on support because they didn’t need it, they missed out because they learned early how to mask it.
When you’re neurodivergent, being “easy,” “quiet,” or “high-functioning” often just means you got really good at hiding your struggles, not that they weren’t there.
This is a hard thing for me because supports for me often come at the expense of others and I feel bad that something that would help me SO much would be a burden for on others

nobody talks about how many times a neurodivergent woman quietly rebuilds her entire life before anyone around her even noticed she had been struggling.
ADHD often hides behind preparation that people never see. Things like planning what to say, staying on track, and managing distractions don’t happen automatically, so the brain compensates by rehearsing to avoid losing the thread or saying the “wrong” thing. By the time you’re actually having the conversation, it can look smooth on the outside, but that’s only because of all the effort that happened beforehand.
yeah i know brushing your teeth at night is like a 2 minute low effort chore with enormous payoff but in a much more significant way it’s like being killed with 100 hammers
Guys, there is no way around it. If you have children, they need to be in school EVERY DAY
They need to be in afterschool programs
You need to have books at home. You need to practice with them at home. They need to see you reading at home
