This is an important step in the right direction. People outside the AI labs should have a voice in how these systems develop, and standards should protect competition rather than consolidate power among a handful of companies.
BUT THERE IS ANOTHER QUESTION we can't avoid: when we say AI must remain “aligned with human values,” WHOSE values do we mean?
Technical standards can help us measure capability, risk and control. They cannot, by themselves, determine what is true, what is good, what gives human life dignity, or what technology ultimately ought to serve.
If the public deserves a seat at the table, that table must be broad enough to include the moral and religious traditions that have shaped our understanding of humanity for generations.
The future of AI cannot only be a technical conversation. It is a human one.
@PoloRoeder@michaelpleahy@TheTNStar That’s a fair question. Uplift is new, but it was built with a privacy first model: no ads, no selling your data, and a personalized experience grounded in Scripture. The $5.99/week supports the technology and ongoing development behind something designed to be genuinely useful.

AI isn’t just about automation—it’s about amplification. What if we used technology to amplify empathy and wisdom instead of noise? #UpliftApp#ChristianAI
I believe technology can serve the soul, not just the screen. What if we designed digital experiences that truly uplift?

After market research sessions w/18-30 yr olds I want to tell you a few things:
Your story isn’t too messy.
Your faith isn’t too fragile.
Your questions aren’t too much.
Tech should be a tool to Uplift your soul and serve YOU on your mission, NOT rob you from it.

The Lord is Jennifer Lyell’s Shepherd. She shall no longer long to see right made of wrong. She has walked through the valley of the shadow of death. She fears no evil, for he is with her and she, with him. His rod and his staff, they comfort her. He prepares a table before Jennifer in the presence of her enemies. He anoints her head with oil. Her cup overflows. Surely Goodness and Mercy have walked her all the way home. She now dwells in the house of the Lord forever.
Heroes may not wear capes and climb buildings, but they DO exist. They are among us and perhaps even within us. When we see our fellow humans in need let us step in and give them a ride to safety. When ordinary people choose to be everyday heroes, the whole world changes.
Immediately following the initial attacks on the World Trade Center, tunnels were closed, and traffic fleeing Manhattan via bridges reached a standstill.
Many civilians, especially in those neighborhoods closest to the attacks, were desperate to escape the island but had no way to do so.
Luckily, their salvation came like lightning.
A coast guard transmission went out. “All available boats,” it said.
“This is the United States Coast Guard… Anyone wanting to help with the evacuation of Lower Manhattan report to Governors Island.”
Within minutes, around 150 private ships of all shapes, sizes, and purposes reported for duty and got to work.
All told, these heroic captains transported around 500,000 people away from the disaster zone.
This came to be known as the 9/11 Boat Lift, which to this day, is the largest water evacuation in history.
