@christiaanskryf @AsandaNgoasheng Yes. As an educator, one must be sensitive to what is said in front of learners. Every educator/speaker worth their salt knows that every second of a class can be recorded out of context. Experience talking. Where is her experience demonstrated? Amateur…?
What is your solution? Should I share our document with you?
(To be clear: I am vaccinated and so are our staff and students.)
In summary: can you release official statements with practical regulations so that we don’t have to be afraid of breaking the law?
Dear @SportArtsCultur: “Rigorous physical activity” is explicitly mentioned in the gazetted Covid-19 regulations, but the“performing arts” are not. Is this “rigorously physical activity”? The ambiguity has caused much uncertainty in the live performance industry.
Masks and social distancing are untenable in out context, but a lack of explicit guidelines is even more problematic. The SU Drama Department wrote draft regulations for our context so we can continue with our educational mandate.
Conclusion: (white) guilt is a useless emotion. At best, it’s a desperate attempt at virtue signalling, and at worst, it automatically casts the audience as a prosecutor without their consent. “Guilt” is só 16th century Calvinism. So: open to new suggestions!
@Our_DA@jsteenhuisen To be perfectly honest, the entire State of Disaster should come to an end. See this great article on Daily Maverick: https://t.co/q1j7Vu0lwQ
Unpopular opinion: if at this point you're not vaccinated, you're either under 18, you've recently had COVID, you're waiting for your second jab, or... it's a choice. With each passing day day my mask feels more like window dressing. Can I get my life back, Mr. President?
