It seems every journalist or pundit has a theory about Chelsea's predicament. I bet if we managed to convert just one of those chances, none of them will write about Chelsea that way.

It amuses me how grown people change script based on one action in football. If we want to talk about 120 minutes, considering where we are, how we are developing, the injuries, how Liverpool thrashed us a few weeks ago, nobody will say we didn't raise our game or competed well. We have had the issue of scoring since the beginning of the season. Only time or better players will solve that.

And mind you, they fielded more experienced players than us. Consider also how badly we handle the extra time and how most players folded under pressure due to inexperience, it's all part of the process that will make them better.

Gary Lineker represents either wilful ignorance or the desire to garb himself in saintliness by championing a fantasy rather than being brave enough to engage with messy reality. Hamas are Islamic fundamentalists who don’t want peace. I’ve watched 45 mins of them hacking heads off people, collapsing in the faces of women with bullets, slitting the throats of babies - and they did all this with ecstatic shouts of “Allahu Akbar!” The joy they experienced was unfathomable. What they did wasn’t a mental health problem. It was an incredibly orchestrated, organised deliberate plan. It was methodical and intentional. And it scans exactly with what Hamas has always stated and what continues to be their reason for existing: to kill every Jew on earth. They sent twenty men after one Jewish teenager who seemed to be escaping. They wanted a perfect score of death for Jews. They do not want peace. So if Gary Lineker refuses to show any genuine intellectual or moral courage with regard to dealing with this problem, he serves no purpose in this conversation and neither Jews, nor anyone should pay heed. He is choosing cowardice and feeling good over getting his smug saintliness tainted by engaging truthful with an imperfect world
