I’m speaking from hard work not hard labor that is a difference I agree. I hold myself to a high standard always have.

@LABorn100 @woodnbeer @chrisjsuggs @sabrinacoast_ What age student? I’ve known many a 19yr old who have flunked out their freshman year. I wouldn’t blame the professor for that. An old prof of mine said if you aren’t ready for collage take a break until you are, based on the idea that many young kids don’t pass her class.

But on the flip side profs can catch a lot of flack & possibly lose a teaching position if they have a high fail rate. Which might them be the reason for asking

It’s heartless, but I can see the flip side where the prof looses their job because of low pass rate. So to ensure passing kids instills a attendance policy.

That teacher is asked about each failing grade and must justify it. If a college student isn’t mature enough to attend and then fails the teacher must justify why the kid failed & the college too

When I went to school we didn’t need to provide proof if we were absent. The professor didn’t take roll. Passing rates dropped and collages started taking roll. We’ve got a problem when tuition is paid and kids are failing classes.

One positive for me is I am being continually amazed by my students especially my senior students. It is a joy to grade their work and see how they view poems and artwork. I am very impressed by these students!
