statement on the hypervault scam on monday i received a dm from an account that has been super active under my tweets for a while, the hypervault account. (deleted) they asked me for my telegram username and we started chatting on telegram for a while, he told me about their project and i asked a few questions. then they asked me if i would be interested to do some KOL work for them. I told him i have to try it first, which i then did. i deposited a some money into the UPUMP and HYPE vault and monitored for a while. after that I checked twitter for other tweets about hypervault and i the found the @hypingbull tweet from 3 weeks ago saying something is fishy with hypervault. so i asked the guy if we could hop on a call so i can ask him some questions, he agreed and we had a call 15 minutes later. he was doxxed, camera on, talking about being in sweden and about past projects (Perfectswap) on the call i asked him about updates on the audits, the yield numbers and the tweet from hypingbull, he showed me the last audit report from @zenith256, their text messages with the team (talking about that the final audit which should come this week) and he showed me the code behind these vaults and some wallets showing their reserves. he also told me that / showed me a tweet where they put up a statement to hypingbulls tweet explaining the situation and that zenith just retweeted their audit tweet. after that call and some more things he sent me (latest audit update and screenshots from chats) i deposited more of my own HYPE into the vault and made my tweet. i also dmed a few of my friends and wrote it in a few of my group chats about hypervault. i really though this was something special i found. and for the next 3 days everything seemed fine, on thursday he sent me the tweet from @HybraFinance announcing a partnership which gave me more confidence. and today I woke up to few dm asking me if i was fine and if my funds are safe. then in asked around what was going on and saw what happened. after that I spend most of the day talking to people in dms and in group chats trying to find the scammers info. we have a telegram group chat with over 50 people trying to find info on this guy, on and offchain. if you have any info pls dm me. to every victim of this scam I am very sorry, i should have done better due diligence before I tweeted about the project. the fact i lost a big chunk of my HYPE holdings sucks but way worse than that is knowing that some people lost money because of me. i was kinda late to the hyperliquid party but the whole community has been super welcoming and I've meet so many great people already in that short time. I really want to make hyperliquid and hyperEVM the best place in crypto. to do that i gotta be better too! i talked to a few teams after this hypervault situation and they offered me to help me with background checks the next time i don't feel 100% sure about a project. i promise you this won't ever happen again and we will make hyperliquid a place free of scams and grifts.
