Annoyance is a form of pride, of course. It’s arrogance with a side-helping of impatience. Both quench the Spirit & both look ugly on us. We’re Holy Spirit people with the inner unction to be kind, patient, loving and grace-giving. Let’s give what we also require. And take a nap.
When we go to church today it’s important that we listen to the message for ourselves. So often, we miss what God is trying to say to us because we are are thinking about who “else” the message is for.
As you sit, say to the Lord, “todays message is for me.” Listen accordingly
I’ve been meeting with some ladies to watch the #itsnotsupposedtobethisway videos by @LysaTerKeurst and our worlds are being rocked! Might seem silly, but the biggest thing I got so far is self-discipline w/ food. The process is so much more important than the result! Love it!
I hear this from women all the time when they recognize sexism in the church, in a book, in a Bible study curriculum:
“Am I being too sensitive?”
Women: your unique perspective is a gift to the church, not a weakness to apologize for.
Treadmill tip: don’t listen to worship songs that make you close your eyes. I opened mine just in time to grab the side and not bust my face.
However, practicing songs on the treadmill helps ENORMOUSLY with your breath control. #TheMoreYouKnow
I feel like over the last few years I have collectively exercised maybe 20-40 times, and each time I intend it to be the beginning of creating that workout habit again that I used to have. Well, today is day 1 in attempt # (insert high number here). #noshame#myquadsarecrying
There is no mastering the master of the seas. No making crumbs of the Bread of Life. No downing a well that has no floor. It’s not Jesus and Scripture boring us. It’s our faulty sense of having figured it out. Our defining faith as the settled state of no longer asking questions.
