Pope Leo has arrived in Barcelona and makes his first visit to Jesus in the Eucharist.

Upon entering a church, a bishop traditionally venerates the crucifix, blesses the church with holy water, and visits the Blessed Sacrament. It's a beautiful Catholic custom for all of us: whenever we arrive in a new town, city, or country, to first stop and greet Our Lord in the tabernacle.

Heute wäre Anne Frank 97 Jahre alt geworden. 🎂

Anne Frank wurde am 12. Juni 1929 in Frankfurt am Main geboren. Als Jüdin musste sie mit ihrer Familie vor dem Nationalsozialismus in die Niederlande fliehen. Während der deutschen Besatzung versteckte sie sich gemeinsam mit ihrer Familie in einem Hinterhaus in Amsterdam. Dort schrieb sie ihr weltberühmtes Tagebuch.

1944 wurde das Versteck entdeckt. Anne Frank wurde deportiert und starb Anfang 1945 im Konzentrationslager Bergen-Belsen – nur wenige Wochen vor der Befreiung.

Ihr Tagebuch erinnert bis heute an die Millionen Opfer des Holocaust und mahnt uns, Antisemitismus, Faschismus und Menschenfeindlichkeit entschieden entgegenzutreten.

Erinnern heißt handeln. Nie wieder ist jetzt.

I'm deeply alarmed by the renewed escalation in the Middle East.

All attacks must stop immediately.

The ceasefires in Lebanon, Iran & Gaza must be fully respected.

Any steps that could undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts must be avoided.

I'm also deeply concerned by Israel's decision to close crossings into Gaza & reiterate my call for the immediate reopening of all crossings to ensure the rapid, safe & unhindered passage of humanitarian assistance at scale throughout Gaza.

The exercise of navigational rights & freedoms, in accordance with international law, must be respected.

Everyone must uphold their obligations under international law & take all feasible precautions to protect civilians.

There is no military solution to the conflicts in the Middle East.

The only way forward is through dialogue & negotiations.

I urge all concerned to work towards diplomatic solutions that advance regional & international peace & security.

Wer die tägliche Höchstarbeitszeit aufweichen will, riskiert mehr Stress, mehr gesundheitliche Belastungen und weniger Zeit für Familie, Freunde und Erholung. Gute Arbeit bedeutet nicht, Menschen immer länger arbeiten zu lassen, sondern faire Löhne, sichere Arbeitsbedingungen und eine gerechte Verteilung von Arbeit.
