I encourage everyone to read it in English if you can. That’s how I wrote it. Apologies for any grammatical errors but I wanted it to be as authentic as possible.

10 years ago yesterday I played in the @NHL and broke 2 vertebrae. It’s been a long journey since and I decided to share my story here, but the txt got so long I didn’t know what to do with it. Luckily the boys at @bezfrazi offered for me to use their platform. Thank you

In 2013, Andrej Nestrasil helped the Griffins bring the Calder Cup to Grand Rapids for the first time. Twelve years later, his brother Vaclav is part of the @MuskegonJacks squad that’s trying to claim its first USHL championship for the lakeshore. Join us in cheering on the Jacks as they host Games 3 and 4 of the Clark Cup Finals this Friday and Saturday!

KIDS: Here is a clip of Luke Glendening scoring a goal in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

And here is his path to the NHL:

-Played 4 years of Michigan high school hockey
-Played a PG year of prep school out east
-Went undrafted
-Went to the University of Michigan as a walk-on
-Became a 3-year captain in college
-Started his pro career in the ECHL
-Now he's a veteran of over 850 games in the NHL

Everyone has a different path. Most will have to take the long way, but if you have grit, perseverance, and an unrivaled work ethic you'll put yourself in a much better position to reach your dreams.

If you don’t have things figured out right now, focus on the things you can control and get to work. Glendening is known for his work ethic and he's willed his way to an incredible career.

What a great person to look to for any kid with a dream.
