@shadihamid “A greater source of destruction than lost countries?”
You do realize Russia is waging war on at least two continents right now.
It’s factual errors like this that invite reasonable skepticism about the justification for your targeting of Israel specifically.
Asking for more concrete, unimpeachable evidence is not "denial". Clearly you don't have any background or training in law.
Your entire argument is the moral stance that you believe it is conclusive and therefore it is genocide.
My entire argument is that everything you've showed me "could" be evidence of something, but it's not conclusive. The people who ultimately have the say on whether it is genocide under the Geneva Conventions have not found the evidence to support that legal assertion.
I remember Srbenica. It was abundantly clear that was genocide on European soil. I remember Rwanda. It was abundantly clear the Hutus set out to eliminate the Tutsis. I remember studying Cambodia. The Khmer Rouge killedf dissenters en masse.
Israel was attacked first by Palestinian members of Hamas. It is now acting in self defense. That creates a set of circumstances far different from any of these. Henpecking individual photos and videos doesn't make anything abundantly clear except for the fact that you feel the moral *need* to be right despite objective contrary evidence. I can't change that need.
Given that need of yours led to rationalizing a comparison of my fact checking to "Holocaust" is so grossly ignorant, it betrays your best intentions.
There's a case to be made that the Kraft Heinz $KHC licensing deal with Disney $DIS is not unusual... and there is a case to be made that it opens the door to the first big test of AI-made ads inside Disney's world. I argued the latter.

@academic_la If you believe it is genocide, and you're an academic, then can you explain how what is happening in Gaza maps to the precedent of Cambodia, Rwanda and/or the Former Yugoslavia?
@FDinkelaker@bartov_omer@nytopinion It doesn’t matter what an NGO “reports” when its role is to serve whoever funds it.
ICC prosecutors have an obligation to find evidence of genocide.
If they haven’t any it by now, that’s a pretty strong signal that the “genocide” angle is not only wrong but coordinated
@FDinkelaker@bartov_omer@nytopinion a bunch of people with an opinion. you don't know who paid them. you don't their motivations.
do you realize how offensive it is to label me a holocaust denier after I've spent my time engaging with you reasonably?
Another illogical leap. Nothing you’ve shown is evidence of genocide, nothing you’ve said acknowledges that ICC prosecutors haven’t found evidence of genocide, and nothing that maps the facts of Gaza to Cambodia, Rwanda or The former Yugoslavia except for “bullets”.
Jumping to holocaust denial is ignorant and offensive
@FDinkelaker@bartov_omer@nytopinion At this point your entire argument is structured around selective tweets and incomplete research on news events and then you take the extreme illogical leap to holocaust denier?
@FDinkelaker@bartov_omer@nytopinion I question what it actually shows. We don't know the circumstances. We don't know what preceded it. Your argument is "here's a bad image and let's make up just how awful the circumstances were behind this image"
@FDinkelaker@bartov_omer@nytopinion No we don’t and as jurors we are supposed to consider all available evidence. I think that’s the difference between us. You jump quick to the conclusion and I’m skeptical. There are better answers in skepticism because it requires more information
@FDinkelaker@bartov_omer@nytopinion and the article quotes reports from NGOs. I don't debate those. they're too easily discredited.
Amnest Int'l and other are proving that NGOs are now in the business of serving their donors and not serving objective fact-finding
@FDinkelaker@bartov_omer@nytopinion well why is the prosecutor in prison?
She admitted that she approved the leak of a surveillance video. that's illegal
@FDinkelaker@bartov_omer@nytopinion I haven't seen it in major newspapers or in my feeds. My guess is you saw it in your feeds because you appear to be pursuing these stories pretty doggedly
@dylanotes was Greenblatt talking about Mamdani before he ran for mayor?
No.
Was Mamdani obsessively accusing Israel of war crimes and was his wife liking posts about October 7th before he ran for mayor?
Yes.
You're a reporter. Get your timeline right before making bullshit accusations.
