@OOOfarmer Ash was always said be a hungry tree. This was very obvious here in last year's very dry conditions. Wonder if there is an allopathic effect as well as moisture.

@J0hnFarrington @BourgaultVos @HORSCHUK We find residue can drag in lumps with our CO. Your mix is not the worst but I would sacrifice a couple of weeks growth to allow sowing the day I want. Also think that buckwheat has its work then when it starts to flower.

@IrelandsFarmers @MayoCorncrake77 Skylarks had almost disappeared from our farm but have returned in huge numbers 5 years in to Conservation Agriculture. Also snipe, yellowhammer, goldfinch and first nesting plover.

@ngillis20 Reduced soil disturbance and almost constant plant cover provides food and shelter above and below the ground. We've seen an explosion of insects and birds since going this way.
