Yesterday’s #homesunderthehammer featured my “garage door touch-and-feel ponder”. I remember at the time we filmed this, I suggested “shall I stroke the garage as if I’m testing its quality?” “Why not” they said. And sure enough, it made it into the broadcasted episode!
Unbelievably, none of my “pondering through the beams” made it into this weeks Homes Under the Hammer final broadcast despite some breathtaking footage being created at the time. In fact no pondering at all. Just opinion on values. Sad times 😔 #whynopondering
A cheeky little conservatory #ponder last week in #basildon. We tried a ceiling tap but the producer didn’t like it. So just an old fashioned, classic “look around then walk out of shot”. It’s nice to go back to basics sometimes.

Great fun at the @phoenixpropertymeet.co.uk annual fundraiser this week. Live charity auction rooms allow me to ad lib and bully/gently encourage the audience way more than a regular property auction! The booze helps too (both me and the bidders!) #charity#auctioneer
JK’s Fanbite of Chelsea’s humiliating thumping by the Toffees of Everton. Can’t deal with being bullied can’t score any more. It’s a backwards & sideways w*nkfest. Have the wheels fallen off? Is Rosenior Potter in disguise? @Jonathankydd@chelseafanbite#chelseafc@chelseafc
This week’s episode of #homesunderthehammer featured a lovely “is it a garage, is it a lean-to, no one really knows” ponder. You have to watch to the very last scene but hopefully all the #pondering appreciators amongst you will feel it’s a journey worth going on.
My first #ponder of 2026. And I wanted to start with a bang. I chucked in a “cupboard door test” as well as one of the smoothest “umbrella-closage” manoeuvres you’re likely to see this year.

As an auctioneer, December is always a crazily busy month with both property and charity auctions but this was the first time I had to conduct 4 auctions in 30 hours. Three property auctions and a fundraiser over two consecutive days was a new record for me! #auctioneer#records
2 parties (one a total surprise), an epic champions league night, a surprise dinner in the dark, a weekend at The Grove, a 4 day boys trip in Madrid and lots of other fun events. It’s been a monumental 2 week celebration for turning 50. I think I can safely say I’ve milked it!
How does he constantly innovate his pondering? Allow me to indulge you with a little behind the scenes snippet showing John the Cameraman inventing the “doorway ponder”. Pondering really is a team effort. None of it happens by pure magic, people.
Some unbelievable creativity today from producer Di who spotted a mirror and insisted it couldn’t go to waste. Bringing props into a #pondering sequence is why she’s at the top of her game. Let’s hope they leave this in the final broadcast. #HomesUnderTheHammer#ponderingskills
So this week’s Homes Under the Hammer was a real showcase in just how much the BBC editors are starting to value my #exterior#pondering. They left in not one but TWO separate garden ponders. As well as some front-of-house and in-bedroom contemplative-mastery.
