@Mr_Nance47 I honestly thought he played ok tonight. Pressed a bit in the second half but settled back down. Just missed a bunch of 3’s I can’t remember how many were bad looks. We just don’t have the roster to beat a team like that.
@Mr_Nance47 Might have to dig deeper on those three games. Tonight he had to start being aggressive once we got down big. I’d say those other two games might have been similar but I remember UL him being bad from the start.
Mark Stoops reset the culture of Kentucky football. He brought toughness, physicality, and grit at a time when the program desperately needed all three. More than that, the high points of his tenure here fostered belief. Streaks ended. Bowls won. Standards risen. Under his leadership, Kentucky became a program that, at our best, could compete with anyone.
I’ll remember his era as one defined by competitiveness and genuine excitement. I was in the stands for much of it, and saw with my own eyes the energy around our state and inside Kroger Field on gameday when Kentucky football was right. For a long stretch, Coach Stoops made it right. I am personally grateful to Mark for everything he has dedicated to this program over the last 13 years.
Recent seasons have been disappointing. The combination of factors required to win at the highest level of college football has shifted dramatically.
For Kentucky football to take the next step, it’s time for the next chapter.
Let’s go make it happen.
Mitch Barnhart waiting two months too long to make a move on Mark Stoops, only to pay a huge buyout, and enter the coaching market when all the good candidates are gone, will truly be the Mona Lisa of horrible AD moves
Stoops is certainly one part of the problem, and it's my hope he's no longer UK's coach after today, but this is an athletic department that simply hasn't had many things to be proud of in its revenue sports programs in the NIL era. A long time of mediocrity.
