#DigiTechS22BT One of my takeaways has to be learning about all of the social implications of the internet. Learning how quickly the industry grew from a removed perspective, and learning about how no other technology like it has ever accomplished anything close is amazing.

I wonder if they will be replaced possibly by a chip or a smaller device that is attached to our bodies someday. I think I may have to disagree- I don't believe smartphones will be around for much longer. They will be integrated into our bodies soon enough.

3D printing is something I have always found super cool. I wonder if it will ever be possible to print items in valuable materials or dense metals. That would for sure cause manufacturing to level up!

Regarding Virtual Reality, or VR, R&D is conducted by leading companies in tech, such as Oculus, Microsoft, Google, and more are joining. As research continues, VR will be used across industries to train employees, and possibly have work held virtually VIA VR.
@kwrutgers20 I totally agree here, I think the way school is handled now that it has been online for two years is an emerging, developing technology, and a string resource for the future.
@Sac401S AI is pretty crazy. I personally don't know enough, besides a base understanding. However, I do believe that it is a true emerging technology, and in the next 5 years it will be the MOST disruptive technology ever.
@yaolu77039770 I think that social media has had the largest impact on culture and social life shifting online, no doubt. It provides the resource required to stay connected with the world in an extremely informal sense. Can't wait to hear more!

My EDTP paper is centered around the gaming industry, the extent to which it is a disruptive technology, and how it has impacted all of society. Video games are one of, if not the, largest contributors to the shift in social life / culture moving largely online.
