@IdahoStatesman Maybe theyโre not all the same, but Colorado has a huge problem with these. Not only is the infrastructure expensive, but developers use them for their benefit at the expense of future residents. https://t.co/LYX0g9HMcn
@am_reports Makes sense, mortgages are only 60% of the cost of maintaining a house. If you charged less than the mortgage youโd be losing a ton of money
@sinn_tane What we should do once we have them (at best a few generations away) isnโt an easy answer, but is mostly just an exercise in fantasy at this point. Seems to me like a SWF is a good way to build some collective ownership
@sinn_tane Which is why it doesnโt make sense to call Matt โdamagingโ. Seems like the you both have similar ideas of what should happen next: build working class power, primarily through labor unions.
@sinn_tane More democratic states should start funds. Norway is carrying the team. May not be socialist enough, but they own a bunch of the economy and their labor unions are v powerful. Leagues ahead of us
@sinn_tane Those investors are generally wrong thinking that they can beat the index, so the govt fund will outpace them in the long run. Also, theyโll die at some point allowing the govt to heavily tax their wealth if the want to and move it into the fund
