This is probably one of the most beautiful moments at the World Cup. 🥹🇳🇴

Congratulations to Lavoro Insurance Namibia on its official launch.
We were pleased to host the launch event and commend Lavoro’s commitment to providing specialist insurance solutions.
Wishing the team every success as they roll out their operations.
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah received a courtesy visit from Galp and TotalEnergies management, led by Mr Patrick Jean Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies, and Ms Paula Amorim, Chairwoman of Galp.
The delegation briefed the President on the merger and partnership between Galp Energies and TotalEnergies and sought her blessing.
President Nandi-Ndaitwah welcomed the partnership and expressed her appreciation for the mutual benefits and collaboration between the Government of the Republic of Namibia and Galp and TotalEnergies.
She added that the Namibian Government has created a conducive environment for investors to do business, provided all operations are conducted within the confines of the law.
The partnership between the two companies is expected to create much-needed employment opportunities for Namibian youth.
Lavoro Insurance Namibia Limited says it has been established to offer specialist commercial and corporate insurance, with demand identified in sectors such as mining, oil and gas, renewable energy and agriculture.
The insurer said its entry into the Namibian market brings additional capacity, including the ability to underwrite large and complex risks, while using technology to broaden access to insurance and support financial inclusion.
The comments come as Lavoro officially launched its operations, positioning itself as a locally focused short-term insurer designed to respond to Namibia’s socioeconomic realities.

Our new, capable women-led government must efficiently safeguard Namibia’s interests, avoiding the delays that doomed the Kudu gas-to-power project (killed by Namibian men, by the way 😜)✊🏾. We need urgent capacity building NOW to accelerate development before further regional discoveries in South Africa, Angola, and beyond. I have full confidence in Comrade Shilunga and her team to deliver Namibia’s first oil. They deserve our unwavering support! #NamibiaFirstOil #EnergyLeadership #Upstream
ONDJOVE: Angola just made headlines with a gas discovery. Meanwhile, in Namibia, we’ve had the Kudu gas field sitting undeveloped since its discovery in 1974. Progress has been frustratingly slow—decades of delays, even as our advice went unheeded by some officials. It’s a stark contrast: Angola acts swiftly to capitalize on opportunities, while Namibia risks falling behind.
Another wake-up call for us in Namibia. We must ramp up exploration efforts, build in-country capacity, and create investor-friendly incentives to unlock our potential. Let’s learn from our neighbors and turn resources into real progress. LETS GO 🇳🇦 Mutu Mukuru Mavatere 🙏🏾❤️
🎉 Huge congrats to the Custos JV operated by Galp for winning Wood Mackenzie’s Discovery of the Year with the Mopane find in Namibia’s PEL 83! 🇳🇦 What makes this milestone truly special is that it was all initiated by us as Namibians 15 / 20 years ago, showcasing the vision and drive of local entrepreneurs in unlocking the potential of the Orange Basin. This world-class discovery, marks a transformative moment for Namibia’s future #ONDJOVE #Namibia #MopaneDiscovery #EnergyMilestone

BEST WISHES – The Government of the Republic of Namibia and the nation wishes the Right Honourable Dr Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, Prime Minister of the Republic of Namibia, a Happy Birthday.
America is being slowly strangled to death by an accumulation of millions of regulations.
Tens of thousands of new rules are added every year, but very few are ever removed.
Eventually, everything becomes illegal.
Dangote Refinery, the World’s Largest Single Train Petroleum Refinery has started production of petroleum products. A beacon of hope for Nigeria.

Galp, the operator of Petroleum Exploration License (PEL) 83 in Namibia's Orange Basin, in which businessman Knowledge Katti has an interest through his company Custos Energy, has signed a N$911 million ($50 million) contract with SFL Corporation for the semi-submersible rig Hercules.
The contract is for two wells plus optional well testing and is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2023.
With no options, the duration is approximately 115 days, including mobilization to Namibia.
The Hercules is currently undergoing a special survey in Norway before its mobilization to Canada for a contract with ExxonMobil, before starting transit to Namibia.
