After the failed “repatriations”, every government should be asking itself some tough questions:
Why are our people choosing to risk their lives and live undocumented abroad?
What are we doing wrong?
How do we fix it?
The answers are, of course, already known to those governments.
But why improve conditions at home when it is far easier to fan the flames of fear and rally people around an external enemy deflecting from your own failures?

Of course it’s not the only reason why SA faces many challenges, but it is a significant one. And when you combine the ANC’s inability to manage the corruption and lack of accountability in this area, with the rot in SAPS, Higher Education, Transport, Health etc, etc, the common denominator points to ANC ineptitude, cronyism and corruption. It’s time for change.
