I have a meeting downtown this morning, so I’m part of the Chicago morning commute for the first time since December 2016. I forgot how many things you have to do before you can leave your apartment, but I’ve somewhat missed drinking my morning coffee on an L station.
For the first time ever, I built a process in process builder that worked on the first try. So obviously as soon as I activated and tested it, the requirement changed and I have to create a new version 🥲
A seminal part of my early career was being told that I came across as a “know it all” when presenting on a product I owned. It was literally my job to “know it all” about the product. It was a very quick way to learn about how the intelligence of BIPOC is viewed by white peers.

Firmly believe in celebrating the small things so yes I just bought myself champagne for submitting my time card on time two weeks in row. And also for surviving an insurrection. Two things of equal impact and import.
The best way to learn something new is just do it so poorly that you’re embarrassed by how awful it turns out and the ensuing shame and fear of letting down your ancestors (who sacrificed everything for you) should be enough to suck slightly less the next time you try it.

Tying my measure of self worth to my level of output was a mistake! I was too productive two weeks ago and I am out of things to do! I just made a list of lists I wanna make! I am one redundancy away from disappearing from reality!
Hey all, I was furloughed until mid-July. Not the best situation, but not the worst! With my newly found free time, I’d love to help out people who’ve lost their job to find a new one! I’m very good at resume reviews and interview prep, so if you need assistance just holler :)

One of the most bizzare aspects of being 28 is feeling that your job only has merit if you’re working 80 hours a week. I’ve been intentional about rebuilding a work/life balance, & it’s paying off in so many ways. I’m healthier, I love my job, and my friendships are stronger.
