*Urgent and Important!*
Azusa, there’s an LA County tax initiative moving fast, that could raise our sales tax to 11.25%, and most people don’t even know it’s happening.
It is a cover-up.
Investigative reporting from the @latimes exposes the redrafting of the official After-Action Report of the Los Angeles Fire Department to hide failures and mistakes before releasing it to the public.
Major changes were made to cover up failures. Los Angeles officials, including Mayor Bass’s office, need to be held accountable.
The culture of corruption in City Hall stinks and must end.
Like Trump or dislike Trump, $0 bail was one of the dumbest & most dangerous concepts that came from the Covid lockdowns.
Sadly, most LA politicians supported it. The Sacramento radicals as well.
There is nothing reform-minded about $0 bail. Gascón implemented $0 bail for many crimes the first day he took office and it didn’t make us safer. You should never just pick certain crimes and have blanket $0 bail policies and say that’s “criminal justice reform.” That’s lazy & dangerous.
Bail should be based on: facts of the crime itself, prior criminal record, potential for future violence and additional victimization, safety of the public, safety of the victim, prior failures to appear, prior bench warrants, place to safely reside if released, and does the defendant have employment and family support in the community.
It should NOT be based on blanket policies and political ideology. Bail can be improved but you don’t just get rid of bail altogether, release violent criminals and say - thats “reform.” It endangered all of us.
Newsom has completely abandoned his job and is so obsessed with running for president.
His tweets, his statements and this obsession with Texas and national politics is not helping anyone here in CA. It’s unhinged behavior.
We have the highest grocery prices. Highest electricity bills. Highest gas taxes. Highest homeless veterans. We can’t account for billions in taxpayer dollars and have no clue how to even help fire victims rebuild their homes. We continue to lose businesses and jobs. Parts of LA didn’t even have drinkable water for a time. Home burglaries and street takeovers continue to be a problem - this has gone on for years. 70% of us supported Prop 36 because we know there’s a crime problem here but Newsom won’t make funding it a priority. The Electeds up in Sacramento are some of the most radical politicians and the laws they come up with are beyond scary.
Read a couple of Newsom’s recent tweets - he looks like a child throwing a tantrum. It’s unbecoming. This isn’t someone who is an actual leader.
Can’t we just have some normal reasonable people in charge of CA?
@CAgovernor Although I applaud the efforts in this, you’re utilizing your official platform for campaigning for President.
You don’t need to make every post about Donald Trump while still supporting your constituents.
@jonathanhatami In-N-Out Burger is one of the best at taking care of employees. It’s pretty interesting to see how many people are all of a sudden bashing Lindsey Snyder, who has run a very good company. They would rather pretend there aren’t problems in California.
As District Attorney of LA County, I will fiercely protect the First Amendment rights of anyone who wants to peacefully assemble and voice their positions.
However, when protected speech crosses the line into illegal actions, I will equally fiercely enforce the criminal laws.
If you want to shoot fireworks at people, assault law enforcement officers or shopkeepers, slash tires, or vandalize public or private property, you will be arrested, prosecuted and punished in accordance with the law.
Please heed this warning because my goal is to deter criminal conduct in the first place, thus preventing harm to as many victims as possible.

Let me get this straight, Bass comes out and says, “We will not stand for this.” Then almost every single elected official in Los Angeles jumps on social media and says variations of the same thing. Then Bass says, “we are fighting for you.”
Then we have law enforcement attacked and assaulted, rocks and bricks thrown at them, fires set to cars, OUR FLAG, and other areas of our community, rocks thrown at moving vehicles, people taking over streets and neighborhoods and blocking all traffic, vandalism and destruction around the entire city and county, and the National Guard called in.
Then just now, Bass says, “violence and destruction are unacceptable and those responsible will be held accountable.”
Huh…
Our elected leaders are sadly encouraging the obstruction of justice and the destruction of property here in Los Angeles. It’s sad. They lack political courage.
You can disagree and protest the enforcement of immigration laws while still doing that peacefully, without destroying our city or assaulting officers who also live here.
Elected leaders should not issue statements solely in an effort to get votes and to pander. It’s selfish and just fake. An elected leader should never encourage others to assault law enforcement or break the law. It’s unbecoming. Leadership requires courage. All of us deserve to be safe even if some of us disagree with the laws.
All of you in leadership positions need to really step back and think before you issue statements that endanger others, especially children and law enforcement (the mother of my children is a Deputy), and ultimately ruin our city and county.

I’m thrilled @metrolosangeles is piloting new hardened gate technologies! I personally checked them out this AM before our #Metro Board mtg. These taller gates are designed to reduce fare evasion+enhance access control. It’s another step in #Metro’s commitment to improving #safety.
@jonathanhatami Jonathan, I can vividly remember you coming out against the directives. You educated not just other DDAs, but a County, a State and even a Country on the problem. The world is a better place for it. Keeep fighting the good fight.
Four years ago George Gascón sadly became the Los Angeles County District Attorney. Today he’s officially GONE. He’s out of office.
George-I hope you hear me-I’m still standing. I’m still here. I am and always will be a proud Deputy District Attorney. Honor above all else.
It was never your office George. It was always the People’s.
