With the #NorEng 🇳🇴🏴 quarter final there’s lots of references to the Battle of Stamford in 1066 when the English defeated the Norwegians ending the Viking era.
Why not get in the mood for the game by listening to this #SBIT@UncleSteveRock episode about the age of the Vikings…

I’m flying the #flag of the #Bahamas 🇧🇸 for yesterday’s #IndependenceDay.
On 10th July, 1973, The Bahamas gained independence from the UK and adopted this flag.
The flag is an amalgam of proposals submitted during the contest for a new national flag.
Flag from @mrflag 🏴.
@kirstyprince@ExtremeMetalDad Nobody needs the rap!
Was thinking earlier today that I wish George had wanted to go to that gig instead of playing ice hockey. Bloody kids!
I’m flying the #flag of #Argentina for its #IndependenceDay.
On 9th July, 1816, Argentina formally declared its independence from Spain after several years of upheaval following the deposition of the King of Spain by Napoleonic France in 1808.
Flag from @mrflag 🏴.
In a very remote part of Nunavut, northern Canada, lies a seemingly unremarkable body of water. According to the map, it's just one of many mid-sized lakes in that area.
However, 45-mile (72 km)-long Yathkyed Lake contains something quite literally unique in the world.

A bloke who’s never stood for parliament himself, & who claimed to make women’s boobs bigger through hypnosis, calls a bloke with dodgy donors, & who could lose a by-election to a bloke with a dustbin on his head, a grifter.
This is why British democracy is the finest on Earth…
Nigel Farage is a grifter. He always has been and he's continuing to grift.
He knew he was heading towards a byelection anyway so has pulled the trigger early.
The people Vs the establishment?! Reform are literally part of the establishment.
@DonMcintyre70 I saw his interview on Sky at the Makerfield by-election. If Hartlepool can elect a monkey as mayor, why not a dustbin as MP?
My only issue with Count Binface is that Count is not a British title, should be Earl Binface. Farage should go hard on this, it might be his only chance!
I’m flying the #flag the #SolomonIslands 🇸🇧 for yesterday’s #IndependenceDay.
On 7th July, 1978, the Pacific island nation gained independence from Britain 🇬🇧.
The flag was adopted several months earlier, in 1977, replacing a colonial British Blue Ensign.

@godofleisure@ShepherdNeame It’s been a very long time since I had Master Brew but if I remember correctly it was probably my least favourite. But I’m glad I can find some Sheps ales here in Australia for a taste of home.
Crappy Mexican lager only made palatable by stuffing fruit into the bottle or a fine English ale made in England’s oldest brewery in England’s oldest county with #threelions on the bottle?
1698 Kentish Strong Ale from @ShepherdNeame 🏴
