This is CBC leap-to-conclusions activism journalism. A casual endorsement of an idea (one that will never happen in Canada) is inflated into proof that wealthy entrepreneurs want to strip the poor of the franchise. Meanwhile, the actual power imbalance—massive lobbying, regulatory capture, and elite consensus in Ottawa—gets waved away so the story can stay focused on the easy villain: the successful founder who built a genuine Canadian success story

Equal suffrage is a settled principle. Debating incentives, taxation, and representation is not sedition. Turning every heterodox comment from a high-profile entrepreneur into a morality play about “tech bros” does more to breed cynicism than the original reply ever could
