MoScholars provides an ESA, Educational Savings Account. It is not a "voucher program". We have students using ESA's for public and/or private school tuition, therapies, books, tutoring, etc. It's for low income and IEP students, and all legislators should know that by now.
Thank you @EdSecMcMahon for supporting our efforts to expand LA GATOR.
In Louisiana, we believe families should pick a school that best fits their child’s needs.
BREAKING: Governor Bill Lee calls to "at the very least double the amount of [school choice] scholarships for Tennessee students."
"34,000 students are still waiting for a shot at education freedom and we owe it to them."
Tennessee State of the State Address.
All Students deserve every chance to succeed — and parents, not politicians, should decide what’s best for their children.
This National School Choice Week, we’re highlighting how the Working Families Tax Cut put parents first by expanding K–12 scholarships and flexible 529 plans for college and career training — giving families more control and students more opportunity.
Do’s and Don’ts of Crashing Press Conferences:
DO: Stand by politely and make sure people are clear who you are.
DON’T: Charge the stage and then push security when they stop you from going any further, then continue pushing.

I witnessed #history yesterday. I attended the first #charterschool#graduation ceremony. It was held at the University of Charleston. It was a class from the WV #Virtual Academy (#WVVA). There are many people to thank for this incredible opportunity. @RuckerforWV for sure!!!
Congratulations to my good friend and our new Secretary of Education, @Linda_McMahon! Her business background, her previous experience as administrator of the Small Business Administration, and, most of all, her commitment to state and local control over education are exactly what’s needed today.
Special interest groups lose their minds when a family/kid with a feed tube buys a blender using an ESA so that they can feed the kid. Or buy a TV to help a kid with severe eye conditions see their work. But when public schools blow money on a bender in Vegas? It’s crickets. 🦗
You’re a college professor. You know this is misleading. Per-student ESA funding goes up the same % as per-student funding for public schools. Stop trying to divide Iowans. Parents want the best environment for their child, whether it’s public or private school. @KonfrstForHouse
The motivation behind attacks on ESA families has nothing to do with fiscal responsibility, and everything to do with lining the pockets of union bosses.
In Arizona, we put students, parents, and teachers ahead of union bosses — if Democrats don’t like that, so be it.
New Hampshire state lawmakers introduced a clean bill to make Education Freedom Accounts universal!
If enacted, NH will become the fifth state to achieve true universal educational choice #nhpol
I know we all agree that no student should be denied the opportunity to pursue the education that meets their needs the most.
That is why today, I am proposing a new $50 million Virginia Opportunity Scholarship program.
Three years ago, I warned that the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future — also known as Kirwan — lacked any funding mechanism, would lead to crippling tax hikes, offered no real accountability, and wouldn’t guarantee results for our children. Last January, we left our state in the best fiscal shape it had ever been, with the largest surplus in state history. Today, Maryland faces its worst fiscal crisis in over 20 years, with deficits expected to balloon to $5.8 billion.
During my time as governor, we worked in a bipartisan way to maintain fiscal discipline, balance our budgets, and ensure the financial health of our state while cutting taxes by $4.7 billion and making record investments in our schools every single year.
After inheriting the worst deficit in history — a $5.1 billion structural deficit — we left office with a record $5.5 billion in reserves.
Shortly before leaving office, I warned state leaders not to return to the failed policies of the past by raiding the Rainy Day Fund or recklessly spending down the surplus.
Now, more than ever, the state’s leaders need to return to our commitment to fiscal prudence.

Oh look, a leader who prioritized paying down debt and maintaining a healthy budget surplus was able to use part of those funds to give teachers a substantial raise.
What a concept. 🤷🏻♀️
