Yes Steve, this is exactly the conversation Andrew and I have been having.I’ve been collaborating closely with him on some new ideas for Starship.

We’ve developed two concepts that I believe could meaningfully improve safety, performance, and flexibility.

I have reviewed both ideas in detail and I strongly recommend they are worth Elon’s attention.

The first is a low-effort change that removes a significant risk while also delivering extra payload capability.

The second offers broader improvements across launch, landing, and future mission adaptability.

Andrew has made it very clear from the start that he only wants these ideas to reach Elon first, and I fully support that.

I don’t mind at all if Elon wants to consult me directly for more information before deciding whether to speak with Andrew.

It’s not easy for someone outside SpaceX to present a genuine gift of ideas to Elon, but because of my truth-seeking nature and my dedication to the mission you and Elon started, I genuinely want him to see these.

Well, two of the three design gift ideas that Grok and I have come up with were built around the necessity for aerospikes from the very start.

You also said “You can’t have an escape system on the Moon or on Mars…” — However that became the very first criteria for these new ideas. We framed everything around one first-principles question:

“How do we launch the best Mars lander off Earth to stay, rather than trying to land an Earth launcher on Mars and get it back?”And the mantra that kept coming up was “The ability to reuse is better than reusability.”

I worry the current Starship design would likely lead to a spaceship graveyard on Mars, but the New System is designed to safely land the Baseship maternity ward.
