@ResurrectFilm Beautiful shot composition. I’m still tremendously disappointed Caviezel was recast, but this makes me more optimistic. I’m holding on to an admittedly tenuous hope they’ll be able to work in a cameo for Jim in a way that makes sense.
@CinemaTweets1 The visuals ARE amazing, which make some of the storytelling choices that much more disappointing. I enjoy rewatching it, but wince at points doing so.
@TheCinesthetic Still The Sixth Sense. Seeing it in a theater without a clue as to what was coming is one of my favorite cinematic memories. It’s also the one twist that seems most organic to the story. But while The Sixth Sense was the biggest, Signs is probably my favorite plot twist.
@TheCinesthetic True, but I think the obvious young/old performances in THE IRISHMAN actually serve that particular film well. It had a fitting thematic resonance. We see by their very movements that these men, even in their youth, are committing their crimes in the shadow of the grave.
@TheCinesthetic 100%. During their collaboration Miller wrote a screenplay and Aronofsky wrote a screenplay. As far as I know the draft online is Miller’s, not Aronofsky’s. The script traces the Campbellian hero’s journey for Bruce in a way that’s still fresh even post-Begins.
@BrianWilsonLive O Holy Night. I’m not sure where Brian was at with his faith, but I love how many hymns he sang on this album. His arrangements coupled with those words are a powerful combination.
@Randall_Wallace thank you for all you’ve done in helping @ResurrectFilm come to fruition. The script sounds phenomenal. However, after nine years of mounting excitement, I’m profoundly disappointed to hear @reallycaviezel has been recast. Is there no way around this?
@ResurrectFilm@IconFilm please tell me @reallycaviezel is still attached and yesterday’s report was wrong. The Passion is my favorite film and I can’t imagine anyone but Jim in the role. I’ve been looking forward to and praying for the success of this sequel for years.😭
@mattsontomlin Thanks for sharing! After the initial shock it really grew on me. Sure, it needed a polish, and the film would have been a marketing nightmare, but I thought it traced Bruce’s origin via the Campbellian hero’s journey in a fascinating way that’s still fresh even post-Begins.
@mattreevesLA@mattsontomlin I know it’s unlikely, but I’d love to see you adapt Frank Miller’s Year One as a prequel after the trilogy is over. As the never-produced Aronofsky/Miller script from 2000 showed, there’s a fresh way to approach that material without retreading Batman Begins.
