I've spent the last 48 hours on the ground in North Carolina with hurricane survivors, rescue workers, volunteers. They've talked about God's will, the power of water, climate change etc. But not *one* person has had anything critical to say about FEMA. Not one.

@matilda_bliss It’s worth noting that even with a no vote tonight, the worst outcomes of this project can still happen (with slightly less density) because of the existing zoning, and that’s where the real problem lies. Council’s options are pretty dismal, because of our antiquated zoning.

According to the BID proponents, all we've been missing downtown are calls for services from newly funded Ambassadors. The services on the other end of those calls will have to wait some more for funding. #avlgov
