The first pacemaker was primitive. It failed. Again and again.
But trial and error is how innovation works.
Every failure taught researchers something new.
Today, millions of people rely on pacemakers—because two doctors dared to take a risk, and one woman refused to give up.
High intensity exercise can improve cardiorespiratory fitness, reduce cardiovascular risk and provide psychological benefit in individuals with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. However, for these positive effects to have a lasting impact, regular exercise must become a consistent habit.
So proud that my PhD work has just been published in EHJ. Thank you to my fantastic supervisory team, collaborators, physiologists and most importantly the incredible participants and cardiac rehabilitation team without whom none of this would be possible.
